Language

Compiler

• The compiler now supports legacy features such as LOAD overlays, COM variables, DEFFN etc.

Database

• The CREATE DATABASE and DROP DATABASE statements simplify creating or dropping a database instance in KDB, Oracle or PostgreSQL. KI_DATABASES can be used to enumerate the databases available on a connection.
• ALTER TABLE SET UNUSED and ALTER TABLE DROP UNUSED can be used to drop a column from a table schema without affecting the table itself.
• ALTER WORD INDEX can be used to change a word search index schema without necessarily affecting the index itself.
• KI_PREPARE expects SQL that matches the KDB ODBC specification and on Oracle or PostgreSQL connections it will rewrite the statement in the appropriate dialect.

Workbench

• Code coverage tools to identify dead code.

Client

• The webforms style has been significantly changed to use GDI+ graphics.
• The use of SSL can be enforced by the connection manager and is no longer a client configuration option.

Forms

• Pop-up right click menus are created on demand and consume much less Windows resources.

Miscellaneous

• Requires a new licence format.
• Auditing to syslog of sessions start and end as well as all use of SHELL.
