Fill empty space in the grid with background color instead of shrinking the grid

FillSpace

Normally a grid will crop its size to fit the area of its cells if this is smaller than the design time size of the grid. The FillSpace property forces the grid to always have its design time size and fill the empty space with a suitable background color. If the grid has a background image this will flow outside the area of the cells.
