Forms Designer - Working with Status Bars

Status bars can be used to provide additional information to the user. They are made up of a series of panes that can individually display items of text. Once the status bar icon is selected from the controls palette, click on the form and the status bar is placed at the base of the form.

By default the status bar only has one pane. To add additional panes double click on the status bar and the status bar editor is displayed. The editor allows status bar panes to be added, amended and deleted.

When adding a new status bar pane or amending an existing pane you are presented with the following subform. Click on the relevant area of the form to obtain further information about each option.

Note: the contents of the Help$ property for certain controls is automatically displayed in the status bar when the control gets focus.
