System menu

The client can be customized when running via the system menu. This is invoked by left clicking on the top left icon on the title bar or by right clicking the title bar of a form or the text window. The top section of the menu contains standard Windows functions for minimizing, restoring, moving and resizing.

Below the separator line are Kclient specific options for forms

Menu option Purpose
Preferences A tabbed dialog used to set Forms and Text preferences as well as control the cache settings
Bookmarking… A drag and drop method for saving positions within applications. It requires that the application specifically support this feature.
About… A standard about box.


On a text window the menu options are:

Menu option Purpose
Mark Switch the mouse into marking mode allowing a range of characters on the screen to be blocked out for copying.
Copy This is only enabled if part of the screen has been marked. The characters marked will be copied to the clipboard as text.
Paste Take any text in the clipboard and send it to the server as if had been typed on the keyboard.
Print screen Dumps the text screen to the local printer. The printer to use and the type of screen dump are set in the Printer preferences

Toolbar A toggle which will enable a simple toolbar for Text windows allowing the functions of this menu to be activated directly.
