Login process
For a direct, -d flag, connection KClient will display a splash dialog with the copyright information and pass control to the KCML program. If the -t or -T switches were specified it will display a text window otherwise it will defer creating one until the application attempts to print to the screen.
For remote client-server connections a login dialog box will appear. This will contain the name or IP address of the server and the username. The password will be masked by a series of asterisks, eg *****. While this dialog is visible, KClient is negotaiting the login sequence, either with the telnetd daemon or the Connection Manager If the Connection Manager fails to authenticate the user, then an appropriate error message will be displayed in a message box. If KClient is using a cached password, or is connecting to an NT server using NTLM authentication then no password needs to be supplied.
